Move over “Antiques Roadshow” and “American Picker” – a new program is coming to town on Sunday, June 5, at the Delaware main library. Have you ever wondered if the vase you inherited from your great-aunt Gertrude is worth anything? What about that set of “vintage” records you picked up at a garage sale?

Whether you think you’re sitting on a landmine of junk or treasure, you’ll want to attend the “Plan for Your Stuff” workshop and antiques appraisal. The event begins at 1 p.m. with a presentation from Andrew Richmond of Wipiak Consulting & Appraisals. He’ll discuss how to create a plan for your stuff and will cover planning tips, when and how to get an appraisal, and ways to sell your personal property.

Then, from 2 to 4 p.m., Andrew will conduct a two-hour appraisal fair. All portions of the afternoon are free and open to the public, but individuals are asked to register in advance for a time slot during the appraisal fair. Registration can be made by calling the Delaware main library at 740-362-3861, emailing [email protected], or stopping by the library’s information desk to sign up.

If you can’t make it out on Sunday, you can still catch Andrew on Tuesday, June 7, at the main library with a 7:30 p.m. presentation he’s offering, sponsored by the Delaware County Genealogical Society. That evening, he’ll present “Ohio Furniture 101: An Introduction to Styles and Cultural Groups, 1788-1888.”

All Delaware County District Library locations will be closed on Monday, but you can stop by today or Sunday to pick up materials and browse some of the new titles in the audiobook section. Here are a few:

• “Troublemaker” by Linda Howard. Sent to a remote location in a small West Virginia mountain town to lay low after almost being killed in an ambush, Morgan Yancy finds his attraction to part-time police chief and housemate Isabeau Maran adds an unexpected complication to his life.
