To the editor:

We have in our citizenry a noble and minority group of residents who cheerfully and gladly sing “Happy Birthday” to us as each of us celebrates our annual event. But, meanwhile, we ignore the fact that those born on Feb. 29 are ignored and that they stoically accept the fact that they are deprived of the joyful feeling that comes with being the recipient of “Happy Birthday.”

So on this day, Feb. 29, help those 29’ers celebrate and be joyful in their quadrennial birthday … and do not ask how old they are, but ask, “How many birthdays does this mean for you”?
