All of these words describe Judge David Gormley, who is a candidate for an open seat on the Fifth District Court of Appeals. Judge Gormley will be an exceptional judge in the Court of Appeals, with no on-the-job training needed. He is uniquely qualified and very well prepared for this seat. He is a respected lawyer and judge.

Since his graduation from Harvard Law School, Judge Gormley has been in private law practice and public service. He has been a successful trial attorney, a recognized appellate lawyer, and an effective judge. To prepare for this judicial position, Judge Gormley has served as our State Solicitor, an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, a Municipal Court Judge, and, currently, as a Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge. He was the top lawyer and researcher for the Ohio Supreme Court.

Judge Gormley has participated in many kinds of court cases, in many different settings, from local courts to the United States Supreme Court. He is blessed with an even judicial temperament. He excels at legal scholarship and writing. He has extensive experience in appellate cases, including arguing cases and teaching law students and lawyers. Inside the courtroom and out, Judge Gormley is wise, calm, sensible, and impartial. It is hard to imagine anyone with better credentials for this open seat on the Court of Appeals.

This election season features many controversial candidates. Judge Gormley is not one of them. He stands out for his exemplary public service, unquestioned integrity, and special qualifications.
