It is an honor to serve our community by co-chairing the renewal levy campaign for the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board – the providers of mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment services for our residents.

We ask our fellow residents for support for our renewal levy on Nov. 8.

Our community is a great place to live and raise a family because we support our children and their families. Mental health and recovery issues impact everyone – families, businesses, school, the community. They are real for many people within our cities, villages and townships.

Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board assures the availability of a safety net of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services for our neighbors. The Board continuously plans, funds, monitors, and evaluates these services.

Currently, the Board has a 1.0 mill property tax levy, which will expire in December, 2017. This is a renewal of the existing levy; not an increase. In fact, the board has operated with a 1.0 mill levy since 1986.

Ninety-one cents of every dollar is used to provide direct services. Through our providers of care, the Board funds prevention and treatment services that help to preserve families by keeping productive and employed members of our community. Additional services are for children, families, and schools: suicide prevention, crisis response, drug and alcohol prevention programs, fighting the heroin/pain pill epidemic and counseling services.

Thank you for your consideration of support for our renewal levy on Nov. 8.
