BW cruises to yet another OCC win

Alex Billings had a team-best 10 kills and Lauren Speelman added seven aces to lead the Big Walnut girls volleyball team to a three-set win over host Franklin Heights Tuesday in Columbus.

The Golden Eagles won the first set 25-4 before cruising to the finish line with wins of 25-7 and 25-10 in the second and third, respectively.

Other BW standouts included Kaley Rammelsberg, who had six kills; Kassie Bowmar, who collected five kills; and Mac Podraza, who had four kills and two aces in the win.

BOYS SOCCER

Greydon Shook and Nathan Rothert scored first-half goals and Ludwig Conrad smoothed out the scoring summary with a goal with 12 minutes to play to lead Olentangy Liberty to a 3-0 win over Olentangy Tuesday in Powell.

Theran Handlon finished with seven saves in the Patriot net to secure the shutout.

GIRLS SOCCER

Payje Wilson found the back of the net to break a 1-1 tie and lead Delaware Hayes to a 3-1 OCC win over visiting Olentangy Berlin Tuesday in Delaware.

Cara Susey had the Bears’ lone goal, scoring early in the second half to even things up.
