Buckeye Valley continues late-season success

The Buckeye Valley girls soccer team picked up its second straight 7-0 win Wednesday, cruising past visiting Highland on Senior Night.

Ellen Riley broke the scoring seal off a feed from Liz Gedde and Hannah Cowan quickly doubled the advantage by finding the back of the net off a pass from Daelynn Rosser.

The Barons never looked back.

Gedde, Selina Seliskar, Lauren Lewis, Rosser and Cami Crawford also scored in the win. Seven goals … seven different players.

“The girls are playing well as a team right now,” BV coach Lucy Giddens said. “They’re working the ball wide and finding the seams through other defenses. Our keepers have really started communicating with our defense a lot more as well.”

Ella Kiener had one save in the Baron goal.

Next up, Buckeye Valley caps the regular season Saturday against host Unioto.
