Barons blank Rams on Senior Night

The Buckeye Valley girls soccer team started fast and never looked back, scoring six first-half goals on the way to an 8-0 MSL-Ohio win over visiting Whitehall-Yearling Thursday night in Delaware.

It was the Barons’ Senior Night … and the seniors certainly didn’t disappoint as five found the back of the net.

Seniors Morgan Shuttinger, Sophie Ross, Macie Sheets and Marissa Priddle had one goal apiece while Allison Stankus, another senior, added a goal and a team-best three assists.

Other scorers included Sofie Fane, Elise Hook and Grace Daily. Senior Jackie Farrell added an assist, as did Ella Rosario, Ella Hazelrigg and Caroline Jordan.

Delaware Hayes 5, Canal Winchester 3

Aubrey Griner had a hand in four goals, scoring three times and adding an assist to lead the Pacers to a league win over the visiting Indians Thursday night in Delaware.

Adrionna Brown and Kendal Philibin accounted for Hayes’ other two goals. Sara Dudley was also active, finishing with a team-best two assists, while Ally Dudley and Addie Reed collected one assist apiece.

Josie DeRosa and Cali Kent split time in the Pacer goal, combining for three saves in the win.

Olentangy Orange 3, Hilliard Bradley 1

The Pioneers continue to cruise, most recently rolling past the host Jaguars in OCC-Central Division action Thursday night in Hilliard.

Kaelyn Valleau did the heavy lifting on the offensive end, scoring all three of the Pioneers’ goals.

Jadia Kershaw, meanwhile, anchored the defense with five saves in the Orange (12-1-2) goal.

Olentangy Liberty 3, Hilliard Davidson 0

Emily Jenks, Sydney Hubert and Claire Rindfleisch scored as the Patriots blanked the host Wildcats in an OCC-Central Division showdown Thursday night in Hilliard.

Teigan Casey added an assist in the win.

Also: Dublin Jerome 2, Olentangy 0; Big Walnut 4, Dublin Scioto 0.

BOYS SOCCER

Olentangy struck late, but visiting Dublin Jerome struck even later as the two OCC-Cardinal Division leaders battled to a 1-1 draw Thursday night in Lewis Center.

The Braves stayed perfect on the season, improving to 10-0-3 overall and 3-0-1 in league play, but the Celtics (8-1-4, 2-0-2) were able to stay unbeaten in league play with the late equalizer.

After the teams put together a scoreless first half, Olentangy took a late 1-0 lead when Brayden Cotterman collected a loose ball in the box and fired it into the back of the net with 6:48 to play.

Jerome answered with just more than a minute left, though, getting back to even on a Jake Ziolo free kick.

Carson Cutler had a hat trick and Nate Harding added a goal of his own to lead the Pioneers to a league win over the visiting Jaguars Thursday night in Lewis Center.

Also: Olentangy Liberty 0, Hilliard Davidson 0; Canal Winchester 3, Delaware Hayes 1.
