Two OCC-Buckeye Division matches down … two wins for the Olentangy Liberty boys golf team.

The Patriots fired a combined 299 to take top honors Wednesday at Apple Valley — not quite the 294 they shot in the first league match at Turnberry, but solid nonetheless.

Trey Rath and Ronnie Foth led the way with respective rounds of 71 and 74. Other Patriot scorers included Jacob Hickman (77), Cole Corder (77) and Kyle Mitchell (78).

“There is room for improvement for three guys,” Liberty coach Ryan Snivley said. “They weren’t happy with some of their shots, which is good that they aren’t content.”

Olentangy and Orange were also in action, finishing second and fourth with respective rounds of 309 and 322.

Matthew Homza led the Braves with a 74. Ben Nash (75), Garrett Varanelli (79), Garrett Leckrone (81) and Cameron Casto (83) also chipped in to the runner-up effort.

The Pioneers were paced by Spencer Gifford’s 75. Other contributors included Alex Cabungcal (79), Nate English (83), Tyler Moll (85) and Connor Cummins (90).

Westerville Central finished third with a 317 while Westerville South and North finished fifth and sixth with respective team totals of 336 and 352.
