The Big Walnut girls tennis team was sharp on the singles courts, winning on all three before a pair of default wins at doubles gave it a 5-0 win over visiting Groveport Thursday in Sunbury.
The win, which improved their record to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in OCC action, was the Golden Eagles’ third in as many days.
BW standouts included Macie Kercsmar, who beat Aleah Brown 6-1, 6-0 at first singles; Lindsay Hill, who handled Deonia Coleman 6-1, 6-0 at second singles; and Lexie Kirkpatrick, who beat Anahi Herrera 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
Orange 5, Westerville North 0
The Pioneers swept away the visiting Warriors Thursday in Lewis Center, losing just a single game all afternoon.
Orange winners included Erin Storrer (6-0, 6-0 at first singles), Kortney Reed (6-0, 6-0 at second singles), Livie Mauger (6-1, 6-0 at third singles), Izzy Prislusky and Mary Damko (6-0, 6-0 at first doubles) and Grace Bezold and Heather Barnes (6-0, 6-0 at second doubles).
VOLLEYBALL
Olentangy picked up a convincing league win Thursday, knocking off Westerville North in three sets.
The Braves, now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league play, cruised to a 25-8 win in the first set before taking the second and third by scores of 25-16.
Olivia and Emily Margolies finished with nine kills apiece while Megan Cochran closed with seven kills and 3.5 blocks. Lexie Weithman also had a solid game, finishing with 14 digs.
Liberty 3, Westerville South 1
Madison Brenner finished with 13 kills and three aces, both team-highs, to lead the Patriots to a 25-18, 25-13, 17-25, 25-14 league win over Westerville South Thursday afternoon.
Heather Littlejohn was also solid, chipping in nine kills, while Lindsey Merrels finished with six blocks, Maddie Fogg had 36 assists and Haylie Beck had a team-best 13 digs.
Delaware Christian 3, Grandview 2
The Eagles rallied behind kills from Lyssi Snouffer, Abbey Evans and Mary Kerins to set up a fifth set, one they won 19-17 to polish off a thrilling non-league win over the visiting Bobcats Thursday in Delaware.
Snouffer led all hitters with 15 kills. Evans, meanwhile, finished with a team-high 26 digs to go with six kills of her own while Anna Fuller finished with 18 digs and eight kills.
Brianna Blackburn quarterbacked the offense with 28 assists.

GIRLS GOLF
Riley Dean hit a hole-in-one en route to nabbing medalist honors with a 32 during Thursday’s tri-match against Pickerington North and Upper Arlington.
The Pioneers won with a combined 158 while the Tigers finished second with a 165 and the Golden Bears smoothed out the scoring summary with a 167.
Ashley Au (38), Brittany Miller (44), Emily Miller (44) and Rachael Nobile (53) also chipped in for Orange.
