The Delaware Christian girls basketball team didn’t play its best game, but did just enough to slip past host Madison Christian 28-27 Saturday afternoon.

“We gained some momentum in the first half and played the second half not to lose,” DCS coach Jackie Boggs said. “Not a good game for us, but it’s a win.”

Anna Fuller, who finished with seven points, hit the second free throw following a two-shot foul to put the Eagles up a point with two minutes to go. Neither team scored again the rest of the way.

Erin McCullough led Delaware Christian with eight points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Elizabeth Blackburn was also solid, finishing with seven points and nine boards while Liz Sullivan had six points and seven rebounds.

The Eagles return to action today against Grove City Christian at 7:30 p.m.
