The Buckeye Valley boys basketball team continued its season-long dominance of the MOAC, topping host Pleasant 73-60 Tuesday in Marion.

The Barons, who improved to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in league play with the win, shook off a slow start with a pair of huge quarters. Down 16-11 after one, they outscored the Spartans 20-10 in the second and 19-11 in the third to all but seal the deal.

BV’s Nick Hyatt and Jesse Tomlinson combined to score 45 points in the win. Hyatt, who hit two of the team’s three three-pointers, sank nine of his 12 free throws on the way to a team-high 23 points. He also had a team-best seven rebounds. Tomlinson, who hit nine free throws of his own, finished with 22 points to go with four steals and four assists.

Ben Roderick backed Rosi with 10 points while Anthony Little and Spencer Mitchell finished with nine apiece. Liberty (4-4), winners of four straight, outscored Brandon 18-8 in the second quarter and 21-13 in the third to make the difference.
