Walker, Blair lead Pacers to 47-24 win

Jessica Walker poured in a game-high 13 points and Katie Blair added 11 as the Delaware Hayes girls basketball team handled host Patriot Academy 47-24 Saturday.

The Pacers set the tone with a 13-4 first quarter before outscoring Patriot Academy in each of the final three quarters to pad their lead.

Madison Eldridge and Keiona Houser were also solid, finishing with six points apiece.

Buckeye Valley 59, Fairbanks 55

The Barons started strong and finished fast, outscoring the host Panthers 35-22 in the first and fourth quarters to notch a 59-55 win Saturday at Fairbanks.

The Barons, who attempted 45 free throws in the game, cashed in on 27 of them to give them a boost. They also outrebounded Fairbanks 45-32 in the win.

Megan Veneman led BV with a game-best 16 points. Logan Hatcher (15 points, 14 rebounds) and Alaina Radcliffe (15 points, 11 rebounds) were also solid, both finishing with double-doubles.

Liberty 54, Teays Valley 41

The Patriots picked up a statement win Saturday, beating what was an 11-3 Viking team by double digits on the road at Teays Valley.

Liberty, which improved to 16-1 with the win, led 18-10 after the first quarter and 28-26 at the break. The Patriots outscored the Vikings 26-15 in the second half to account for the final margin.

Savitha Jayaraman led Liberty with 16 points while Alexa Fisher added 13 points on the strength of four three-pointers.

Delaware Christian 55, Ridgedale 41

DCS parlayed a solid first half into a convincing non-league win over visiting Ridgedale Saturday in Delaware.

The Eagles led 30-15 at halftime before being outscored 26-25 in the second half.

All three seniors finished in double figures. Erin McCullough stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four blocks; Liz Sullivan added 14 points and six boards; and Elizabeth Blackburn finished with 12 points.

Westerville Central 56, Orange 48

The Pioneers outscored the visiting Warhawks in each of the middle two quarters, but were outscored 18-10 in the fourth en route to a non-league setback Saturday in Lewis Center.

Hannah Sargent led Orange with 12 points while Schae Lilley and McKenna Ford finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
