Hannahs’ 4-hit effort lifts Pacers over Eagles

Audrey Hannahs had four hits and three RBI to lead the Hayes softball team to a lopsided 14-3 non-league win over host New Albany Friday afternoon.

The game was tied 1-1 until the Pacers erupted for four runs in the fourth. They added five in the fifth and four in the seventh to smooth out the scoring summary.

Laiha Slayton backed Hannahs with three hits and a pair of runs while Amaia Daniel chipped in a couple of hits to go with three runs and three RBI.

Haley Osborne earned the complete-game win in the circle, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out six.

Olentangy 12, Hartley 5

Morgan Cox had three hits and five RBI to boost the Braves Friday in Columbus.

Olivia Gregory, who scored a pair of runs and drove another pair in, also had three hits in the win. Sydney Wagner and Sydney Hall were solid, too, chipping in two hits apiece.

Sophie Low notched the complete-game win in the circle, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out six and walking three.

Liberty 1, Westerville North 0

Sydney Lane gave the Patriots a lead with a second-inning homer and Katelyn Wilhelm and the defense made it stand up en route to a 1-0 league win over the host Warriors Friday afternoon in Westerville.

Wilhelm fired a no-hitter for the second time in as many games to secure the complete-game win.

BASEBALL

Hayes scored a pair of fourth-inning runs to even things up, but host Jerome plated one in the fifth and two in the sixth to notch a 5-2 league win Friday in Dublin.

Mason W. Davis had a two-run homer to account for the Pacers’ runs. Ben Yoakum, Tyler Brown and Cole Barton also had hits in the setback.

Mason J. Davis took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs (none earned) on seven hits while striking out six in six innings of work.

Liberty 2, Westerville South 1

Brandon Brown scored the tying run on a passed ball and Mitch Milheim singled home Mitchell Okuley with what proved to be the game-winning run on the next pitch to cap a two-run seventh inning and lead the Patriots to a league win Friday in Westerville.

Milheim finished 3-for-4 while Okuley, Craig Lutwen and Connor Stewart had two hits apiece.

Hunter Voorhees picked up the win on the mound, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out eight and walking four in six innings of work.

Jack Metzger notched the save with a scoreless seventh.

Big Walnut 6, New Albany 1

The Golden Eagles scored the game’s first run in the sixth and added five in the seventh to secure a league win Friday in New Albany.

Austin Becker had a team-best two RBI while Noah Sprowls led the way with two hits in the win.

Henry von Hollen earned the complete-game win on the mound, allowing a run on four hits while striking out six and walking one.

Orange 2, Westerville Central 1

Ben Miller chased home Garrett O’Reilly with the game-winning run in the 11th to lead the Pioneers to an extra-inning win over the host Warhawks Friday in Westerville.

O’Reilly, who came on to pitch in the ninth inning, earned the win on the mound.

Also: Olentangy 9, Westerville North 0

BOYS LACROSSE

Trent Slavik had four goals and an assist while Nathan Heiser had four assists and a goal, but Archbishop Alter did just enough to offset the offensive outputs and escape with a 10-8 win Friday in Delaware.

Carson Artrip, Andy Nero and Hayden Kaiser also scored in the setback. Nick Gerold, meanwhile, finished with eight saves in the BV goal.
