Golden Eagles, Barons pick up weekend wins

The Big Walnut boys lacrosse team bumped its record back over .500 with a tight 9-7 win over visiting Licking Valley Saturday in Sunbury.

Campbell Allen facilitated the offense, accounting for a game-best seven points (six assists and one goal).

Other BW standouts included Nate McVeigh (two goals), Judah Lozano (one goal, one assist), Nathan Montgomery (one goal, one assist) and the quartet of Seth Daniels, Connor Walzak, Sam Metzger and Joe Blubaugh (one goal each).

Josh Hageman anchored the defense with 13 saves in the Golden Eagle (7-6, 1-6 OCC) goal.

Buckeye Valley 18, Wilmington 1

Ten different players scored as the Barons rolled to a win over Wilmington Saturday.

Trent Slavik led the way with three goals and three assists while Nathan Heiser also found the back of the net three times.

Other BV scorers included Reid Lajuenesse (two goals, four assists), Zach Garber (two goals, one assist), Andy Nero (two goals), Sydney Tangen (two goals), Matthew Zinn (one goal, one assist), Gabe Zimmerly (one goal), Tanner Hogg (one goal) and Mitch Schneider (one goal).

Luke Schilling, Noah Parks and Carson Artrip had one assist apiece while Ed Reely stopped three shots in the BV goal.
