Delaware Hayes graduate Grant Godfrey, fresh off his freshman season at the University of Toledo, punched his ticket to the 2017 Ohio Amateur earlier this week, finishing tied for third during Tuesday’s qualifier at Moundbuilders Country Club.
Godfrey was one of three players who shot one-under-par 70s, joining Galloway’s Nicolas Jones and Bexley’s Hunter Roberts near the top of the leaderboard. Granville’s Tyler Dunfee finished second with a 69 while Dublin’s Camden Solomon took top honors with a 67.
The former Pacer standout had just 27 putts all day long, finishing with two birdies, one bogey and pars on the other 15 holes.
The Ohio Amateur Championship is slated for July 10-14 at Springfield Country Club.
