Emma Schwinne hit a three-run homer and Alexyss Bullock had a solo shot as the Big Walnut softball team rolled to an 8-0 win over visiting Orange Monday in Sunbury.

The Golden Eagles set the tone with a six-run first — a frame punctuated by Schwinne’s blast.

Big Walnut didn’t get much the rest of the way, but didn’t need to as Kate Petty allowed just five hits in the complete-game win.

Brenna Oliver took the loss for the Pioneers.

Olentangy 8, Mount Vernon 1

Sophie Low collected three hits and two RBI and Kendra Madaris chipped in two hits and three knocked in as the Braves easily handled the host Yellow Jackets Monday in Mount Vernon.

Olentangy scored a run in the first and never looked back. It added two in the third, three in the fourth and two more in the sixth to smooth out the scoring summary.

Brooke Wells was also solid in the win, finishing with a pair of hits while scoring two runs.

Low picked up the win in the circle, allowing a run on just four hits while striking out one and walking two.

Buckeye Valley 1, Marion Harding 0

Kasey Morris connected on a solo home run in the top of the eighth and blanked the host Presidents in the bottom half to lead the Barons to an MOAC win Monday in Marion.

Morris allowed just six hits in the complete-game win.

BASEBALL

Tom Fleser tossed a five-inning no-hitter as the Golden Eagles cruised past visiting Franklin Heights 12-0 Monday in Sunbury.

Fleser struck out eight and walked just two.

Offensively, BW used a pair of six-run innings to get the job done. Big Walnut posted its first six spot in the first, getting homers from Parker Imertreijs and Nick Green. The Eagles added six more in the third to smooth out the scoring summary.

Nick Moser finished a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two stolen bases. Imertreijs was 2-for-3 with his homer, a double and four RBI and Green was 1-for-2 with his two-run bomb.

Orange 8, Worthington Kilbourne 0

Jason Schutte struck out eight in seven scoreless innings as the Pioneers picked up a solid OCC-Capital Division win over the host Wolves Monday afternoon.

Colin Shepherd led the offense with a homer in the win.
