DNC 2016: Hats off to transportation services and DNC volunteers

0

PHILADELPHIA — Transportation to and from the Wells Fargo Center has been pretty impressive, considering the number of people attending the Democratic National Convention each day and night.

Shuttle buses, taxis, the SEPTA subway system, Uber vehicles and even golf carts have been key modes of transport all week. Without this coordinated and cooperative system, getting to the DNC daily would be a logistical nightmare.

And there are hundreds and hundreds of volunteers who are always nearby to answer questions, both those of a desperate nature, like “where is the nearest bathroom?” to the more silly inquiries like, “why can’t I go there?”

Patience has been a virtue on the part of the volunteers and those working the event, like law enforcement, credential checkers, food and specialty vendors, media contacts and the delegates themselves.

It takes a lot of work to host an event as large as this, especially one that means so much on the American political process.

Hats off to all, and a sincere thank you.
