BUTLER, Pa. — Scott Dyer McKee, 65, of Butler, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at in Butler, Pa.

He was born April 15, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late Ralph Dyer and Ann Reimers McKee.

Scott was resident of Delaware from 1990 to 2004 and was an active member of St. Peters Episcopal Church where he served as an usher, lay reader, Vestry member and Senior Warden. He was a dedicated volunteer for the Kairos Prison Ministry of Ohio and the Southern Ohio Diocese. Scott was most recently employed as a Human Resources Project Manager for Genco in North Braddock, Pa. Scott was an avid reader, especially of historical novels. He loved singing, cooking, travelling with his wife and family, and walking his dog at the family cabin on the Slippery Rock Creek.

He was also fascinated with researching his family heritage. Surviving are his wife of 42 years whom he married on Aug. 31, 1974, Jackie Kent McKee of Butler; daughter, Ruth Courtney Oliver and her husband, Walter Scot of Greenville, S.C.; two sons, Kent Chapman McKee of Norfolk, VA and Clifton Dyer McKee and fiancee, Ava Marie Hoffman, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; adopted daughter, Christina Marie Lewis of Butler; two grandchildren, Gwenith Ruth Oliver and Walter Luke Oliver; adopted grandson, Jacob Eugene Lewis; two sisters, Elizabeth (Paul) McKee Beswick of Lewisburg, Pa. and Jane (Tom) McKee Hardman of Spencer, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at Church of the Ascension, 4729 Ellsworth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213 with Rev. Jonathan Millard officiating. Interment in the Church of the Ascension columbarium.
