BREAKING: authorities give ‘all clear’ at Easton Town Center after package was investigated

UPDATE: At 2:06 p.m. Easton Town Center tweeted that authorities from the Columbus Fire Department had determined the package posed no threat and had cleared the scene.

“As is expected in today’s world, Easton is vigilant and takes every precaution when evaluating potential risk to visitor safety. We thank the Columbus Police and Fire Departments for their rapid response and collaboration in resolving this incident,” Easton Town Center said via Twitter.

According to an earlier tweet from Easton Town Center, a suspicious looking package was found on the loading dock in the North District at around noon. The Columbus Fire Department and Columbus Police were dispatched immediately to investigate and the nearby area was evacuated.

Columbus police said the package was a suitcase with arabic writing on it.
