WESTERVILLE — Ronald “Ron” Benjamin Dickerson, 74, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Bluebird Retirement Community in Marysville, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 25, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Benjamin W. & Mary (Peters) Dickerson. Ron graduated from Linden-McKinley High School in 1966. Ron received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the Ohio State University, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity.

Ron was a professional engineer and worked for Burgess & Niple Limited as a civil engineer and project engineer in their water/wastewater department for over 30 years. While there, he was honored to be recognized for his technical excellence and engineering achievements and received awards from his professional society, including engineer of the year.

September 9, 1972, he married the love of his life, Connie Graham. Ron was a member of Central College Presbyterian Church, Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 18 in Delaware, Buckeye Boat Club, Delaware Field and Range Club, and was also an Eagle Scout.

When Ron was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, hunting, fishing, and collecting Native American artifacts. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. Those close to Ron will remember him as the meticulous, precise engineer he was and a respectful, loving, and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Dickerson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years Connie Dickerson; sons Matt (Mandy) Dickerson and Chris (Jennifer); grandchildren Olivia, Ian, Taylor, and Kaden Dickerson; sisters Mary Ellen (Duane) Bartholomew and Martha (Hank) Lamb; as well as many relatives, including sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and members of the Graham, Levings, and Miller families.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, Ohio 43015, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware.

Memorial Contributions in Ron’s honor may be directed towards K9s For Warriors or the National Parks Foundation.
