Braves win Shelby Invitational

Leila Raines carded a 76 and Alex Cardi fired a 77 to lead the Olentangy girls golf team to the team title at Monday’s Shelby Invitational.

Raines’ effort was good enough to earn runner-up honors while Cardi finished third among individuals.

The Braves, who also got contributions from Kara Raines (84) and Maddie Gwinn (98), shot a combined 335 to take top honors.

Host Shelby finished second with a combined 357 while Bellevue smoothed out the top three with a 382.

BOYS GOLF

Logan Keeder shot a team-low 86 and Jake Ross finished with an 87 to lead the Delaware Hayes boys golf team at Monday’s second OCC event of the season at Turnberry.

David Kelly and James White IV also contributed to the team’s 369, closing with respective rounds of 90 and 106.

Dublin Jerome won the event with a 290.

Big Walnut also competed in its second OCC match of the season, finishing second behind New Albany with a 323 Monday at Apple Valley.

Austin Schone and Henry von Hollen finished with rounds of 78 while Michael Ford and Parker Imertreijs closed with respective efforts of 83 and 84.
