Robert and Pene (Reed) Curmode will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11.
They were married at Liberty Presbyterian Church on the evening of Sept. 11, 1965, in a candlelight ceremony.
The couple has resided on the Curmode family farm for 47 years, raising two sons, Stephen (Samantha) and Andrew (Cheryl), and a foster daughter, Kathleen Barrett.
They are now enjoying being a part of the lives of their four granddaughters, Kayla, Caitlin, Audra and Madeline Curmode.
Robert was associated with PPG Industries, Delaware, for 38 years. He is now associated with the Columbus Zoo.
Pene enjoyed being an at-home mom in the early years, and later pursued a career as a garden writer, speaker and author.
A party and a family dinner celebration are planned, followed by a Panama Canal cruise in January.
