New ‘Friends’ president

The Friends of Delaware County District Library celebrated the retirement of Stella Dickman (left) from the board at its April 20 meeting. Dickman is a charter member of the Friends of DCDL and served as president for six years. Karen Cowan (right) was appointed as president at the same meeting. During her years of service on the Friends board, Cowan has chaired the strategic planning and finance committees. Cowan’s community involvement includes serving on the board of the Delaware County Historical Society as membership chair, and as a member of several other committees.
