Powell police arrested two men Wednesday night in connection with a series of recent home burglaries and vehicle break-ins.

Police arrested two Powell residents — Edward Mark Green, 19, and a 17-year-old male — in connection with a July 7 break-in on Ascott Court, a pair of break-ins on July 10 at Coldwater Drive, and Gediz Drive. Police say the break-ins occurred overnight while residents slept.

Green was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and identity fraud and is being held in the Delaware County Jail. The 17-year-old was charged with receiving stolen property and is now in custody in a juvenile facility, police report.

“Our police department worked diligently to solve these cases and are going through the next steps to hold the suspects accountable for their actions,” said Powell Police Chief Gary Vest. “Entering someone’s living space while they’re sleeping is atrocious. We hope these arrests help restore a sense of security and safety for our community.”
