Unity Church of Delaware will host musicians Lisa Ferraro and Erika Luckett on Sunday, Aug. 7, for the message “Just Be Love.”
Music will be performed at the 10:30 a.m. service, followed by their workshop “Touching the Infinite: Self Mastery Through Creativity” from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The two musicians will show participants how to tap into their full potential using body, mind and spirit, organizers say.
A free-will offering will be accepted. A light luncheon will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Before teaming up, each musician spent years polishing her craft, gaining awards and accolades. Luckett won two Emmy awards and an Academy Award nomination for her songs. For many years, Erika traveled the globe with her band, Wild Mango, performing at Monterey Jazz Festival and Barbados International Jazz Festival, among others.
Luckett’s voice and instrumental expression is influenced by her upbringing in South America.
Ferraro debuted with Marvin Hamlisch at Heinz Hall, and has performed with numerous jazz and rock ’n’ roll bands. In addition, she has written music for film and television.
They have recorded five albums together.
