Delaware police report:

A 16-year-old was cutting class Tuesday afternoon at Delaware Hayes High School. An assistant principal brought the student to the office and contacted police but the student left the office without permission. Police said the student became abusive and disrespectful toward school staff. Police sent the student home with his parents and a charge of unruliness was forwarded to Delaware County Juvenile Court.

A 62-year-old man was scammed Tuesday morning. The Lippazon Way resident told police he received a call Saturday from a person who said they were with the Publishers Clearinghouse and said that the resident had won a cash prize. The caller instructed the man to send $650 via wire transfer to cover the taxes of the winnings. The man forwarded the money but called police Tuesday when he had not received any winnings. An investigation by police revealed the call came from Jamaica and appears fraudulent.
