The Olentangy Local School District Board of Education will have its organizational meeting this evening.
The board will elect its board president and vice president for 2017, schedule board meetings for the year and reestablish board committees.
The board is expected to establish a service fund in the amount of $5,000 and would not to exceed $2 per child enrolled in the district, or $20,000, whichever is greater, to pay for expenses incurred by board members in the course of their duties.
The board will have a regular meeting to approve the issuance of energy conservation notes in the amount of $7.3 million to purchase and install energy conservation measures.
In other business, the board will:
• Consider to certified the employment of Melissa Griffith as assistant treasurer effective Feb. 1. She would replace Emily Hatfield, who was promoted to treasurer.
• Consider to approve a contract with H.E.A.T (Heating, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Temperature Controls) Total Facility Solutions Inc. in the amount of $7,280,998.
• Consider to approve a contract with Liberty Mutual, for property, fleet, and liability insurance at a cost of $367,464 per year.
The board will meet at the district’s administrative office, 814 Shanahan Road, 6 p.m. in its conference room.
