Delaware police report:

Police investigated a suspicious person in the area of North Franklin Street Sunday morning. Police found an Ohio Wesleyan University student too intoxicated to care for himself. The man was transported back to campus and released to the custody of friends who said they would care for him. A few hours later officers were summoned to the area of Oak Hill Avenue for a suspicious person, when they arrived they found the same man in the same condition. He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.

Police were summoned to Certified Oil on east William Street Sunday morning for a report of petty theft. Employees told police that a subject entered the store and took a pack of cigarettes without paying. Police searched the area and found a man matching the employee’s description and found the man nearby. The man was found to be in possession of the cigarettes and police learned he had an active warrant for his arrest. The man gave police a false name and struggled with officers as they took him into custody. No one was injured, but the man was charged with obstructing official business and theft.
