Olentangy approves costs changes for school’s construction

The Olentangy Board of Education made some cost adjustments for the construction of Berlin High School at a meeting last week.

The board approved a change order to increase the guaranteed maximum price by $259,589 to $57,574,013 for Gilbane Building Co., the main contractor.

The new costs are for the site revisions of three proposal requests. Revisions were required by Delaware County officials after its final plan review for the school district’s fourth high school and could not have been anticipated in advance.

The changes will be from the district’s contingency dollars, which were already budgeted for the project.

In other business, the board:

• Approved the purchase of 12 school buses from Rush Trucking through META bus bid for $1,055,036.

• Approved the purchase of 12 camera systems from AngelTrax for $25,207.08.

The board’s next meeting will take place at district’s Administrative Office, 814 Shanahan Road, in Lewis Center 6 p.m. Feb. 14.
