New to Medicare class offered

Insurance specialists from SourcePoint will teach a New to Medicare class at Harlem Township Hall, 3883 State Route 605 in Galena, on Monday, April 24 at 6 p.m.

Anyone wanting to learn more about Medicare is invited to attend. New to Medicare also is routinely offered at SourcePoint, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware. The class will be held April 1 and April 12 at 10 a.m. and April 26 at 6 p.m.

Those who attend can get useful information regarding traditional Medicare (Parts A&B), Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C), and Prescription Drug Plans (Part D), as well as Medicare supplements, which can help cover the gaps in traditional Medicare. Bomber coming to fly-in

Wings & Wheels 2017 has secured a World War II B-17 bomber for the annual fly-in, held Sept. 15-17, at the Marion Municipal Airport.

The Yankee Air Force, Belleville, Michigan, is home to “Yankee Lady,” a World War Two Boeing bomber, a.k.a. The Flying Fortress. The B-17 is a four-engine heavy bomber. It dropped more bombs than any other U.S. aircraft during WWII.

Prim and Proper fundraiser set

Second Ward Community Center will host its annual Prim and Proper fundraiser on Saturday, April 8.


The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 50 Ross St., Delaware. This fundraiser is done to support field trips and other activities. You can shop from a variety of shops and individuals. If you are interested in renting a table, it is $50.
