Immigrant to speak at church
William Street United Methodist Church has a long history of welcoming and caring for and about refugees and immigrants. In the past the church has welcomed and supported families from Vietnam and Iran.
On April 2, Walid Ali will be the church’s guest speaker. Walid will share his personal experience as an immigrant to this country. Walid and his family now make their home in Columbus. Tyler Reeve, from CRIS, Community Refugee and Immigration Service, will accompany Walid and will participate in a Q&A.
Additionally, as part of the Lenten mission, the church is raising funds for CRIS to help the organization provide support for refugees who have recently settled in the area and to advocate for others. Visit https://cris.networkforgood.com.
