The Delaware City School levy that is on the ballot this November has our support. A healthy city school district adds vibrancy, value and a strong sense of togetherness to a community. The City of Delaware is fortunate to have such a district and passage of this levy is vital to maintaining this status.
We are relatively new residents of Delaware who appreciate the current strong education system. Perhaps more importantly, we have also seen the detriment to a community when that education system declines. The decline is not swift, but it is powerful and extremely difficult to recover from.
Voting yes on Nov. 7 will maintain the excellency we currently enjoy from the Delaware City Schools.
