The Olentangy Orange girls soccer team picked up a convincing non-league win over visiting Westerville North, scoring a pair of goals in each half on the way to a 4-0 win Thursday night in Lewis Center.

Alexis Knisely broke the scoring seal just four minutes into the action.

It turned out to be the only goal the Pioneers would need.

They got a trio of others just for good measure, though. Lauryn Barringer made it 2-0 by converting a penalty kick later in the first half before Barringer and Kaelyn Valleau scored in the second half to account for the final margin.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Olentangy Berlin picked up its first win of the young season, outlasting visiting Gahanna Lincoln in a five-set thriller Thursday night in Gahanna.

The Bears won the opening set by a lopsided 25-16 margin only to see the Lions come back with an equally dominant 25-17 win in the second.

Gahanna took the third 25-16 before Berlin rallied to win the fourth and fifth by respective 25-15 and 15-13 margins.

Roz Zeilinski led the Bears with 15 kills and five blocks.

GIRLS GOLF

Mia Raines fired a nine-hole school-record to lead Olentangy Berlin to a tri-match win over Olentangy Orange and Dublin Scioto Wednesday afternoon at Bent Tree.

The Bears, thanks to Raines’ 32, finished with a 166 — a nine-hole school-record for the team. The Pioneers finished second with a combined 183 while the Irish smoothed out the scoring summary in third with an even 200.

Reagan Clifton backed Raines with a 41 while Lauren Lambert made her varsity debut with a 47.

Skylar Dean led Orange, finishing just two strokes behind Raines with a 34.
