New lane at Dempsey

Workers from two contractors, Dunlop & Johnston and Mr. Excavator, dug up the roadway on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of Dempsey Middle School earlier this week to begin construction on another lane of traffic. Delaware City Schools officials hope the extra lane of traffic will ease congestion for parents dropping off and picking up their students. The new lane is projected to be completed, along with other improvements at Dempsey, before the start of the 2016-17 school year.
