Kroger Co. says it has completed a nearly $1.8 million renovation at the West Powell Road store in Powell.

The extensive remodel of the approximately 77,000 square-foot store began in December, with contractors completing the project earlier this month.

The upgraded store features new décor and lighting. New fixtures and cases were installed in several departments, including a new open air service seafood case in the meat department. Customers can also choose from more than 175 varieties of cheese at the Murray’s Cheese shop. New displays and signage were added throughout the store.

“We are excited to offer an updated layout, with an emphasis on fresh products, prepared in store,” said store manager Shawn Litton.

Local dignitaries will join members of the Kroger team at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store, located at 3975 West Powell Road in Powell. Customers may attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. the same day. The event will include entertainment for kids, prizes and product sampling throughout the store.
