We must remain united

I am an American. We live in the greatest country in the world. Our country is the home of freedom, equality, and liberty.

Our citizens are generous, friendly, helpful, and, with small groups who differ, English is our national language and in God we trust.

We have some work to. We are the world’s largest producer and exporter of weapons of mass destruction. That is our contribution to world peace.

Shame on us.

We send our youth to foreign wars to kill and to be killed or wounded. When they come home wounded, we do not provide enough necessary care for them.

Shame on us.

Two political parties control our government: Democrats and Republicans. These two groups are so protective of their flawed positions, they are unable to compromise with each other to do what needs to be done and we don’t do anything to make them change.

Shame on us.

There are many other areas that need work: education, immigration, race relations, global warming, and the distribution of wealth. We may disagree on these issues, but we can be a united people and can work together to get things done.

It’s time we did.

God bless the United States of America.
