The water that most Delaware County residents drink has been named the “Best Tasting Water in the State of Ohio.”
Through a blind taste test by a panel of impartial judges, Del-Co Water Company’s product beat out several others at the Ohio Rural Water Association’s annual conference last month.
It marked the first time Del-Co Water Company has received the recognition.
“We’re excited,” said Glenn Marzluf, CEO of the company. “We’ve entered it many times and have not been selected before.”
Del-Co Water Company has entered the contest about six times over the event’s 15- to 20-year history, according to Marzluf.
“We have very fine employees, fine operators and good source water,” he said. “That together allowed us to provide a competitive product.”
The company will move on to compete in the National Rural Water Association’s competition next February in Washington, D.C.
“We will show up at the national event and we’ll provide the product we always provide and it will be competitive,” said Marzluf.
Founded in 1969, Del-Co Water Company serves about 130,000 people in Delaware and six other counties.
