As another three inches of rain fell on parts of the county over the weekend, at least two roads became impassible due to high waters and one motorist and passenger had to be rescued from a vehicle.

Both Ohio 257 and River Road – each of which run along the Scioto River – were flooded over the weekend.

Two people had to be rescued from a vehicle at the intersection of River Road and Byers Road in Radnor Township at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sandy Mackey, a spokeswoman for the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency. Multiple fire departments took part in the rescue.

As of Monday, no roadways were closed. However, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office was monitoring high water near Ohio 229.

Rainfall varied from one to three inches across the county over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service, more rainfall is expected from today through Saturday, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation the low on Friday evening.
