The high water that closed several county roadways in the past week has mostly subsided, leaving only one road closed Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Delaware County Emergency Management Agency reported Tuesday that only State Route 229 between Horseshoe Road and U.S. 23 was still closed by high water. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reported it was monitoring the road before the rain began on Monday.
Over the weekend, both River Road and Ohio 257 were closed by water from the Scioto River. The roads had reopened Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, the county will get a brief break from rainfall Wednesday but there is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain Wednesday night.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Thursday with a 70 percent chance throughout the day and a 60 percent chance at night. The new rainfall accumulation is forecasted to be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
