Ohio Wesleyan University was ranked among the top 50 schools on a list of Best College for Female Athletes compiled by niche.com.

The Best Colleges for Female Athletes list ranked 703 schools based on NCAA championship appearances, percentage of female students competing in varsity sports, and more than 200,000 student opinions from nearly 75,000 students. A high ranking indicates that the program has performed well in NCAA tournaments and athletes are given the support and resources they need to succeed both on and off the field.

Ohio Wesleyan was ranked No. 50 on the list and is the highest-ranked school from both the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Great Lakes Colleges Association.

Ohio Wesleyan finished third in the North Coast Athletic Conference all-sports standings for the 2014-15 academic year, with the Battling Bishop women’s teams winning NCAC championships in indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. Ohio Wesleyan finished 104th in NCAA Division III in the final Learfield Cup standings.
