The 19th annual 2015 Powell Festival will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. today and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday at Village Green Park.
The Powell Festival features family-friendly entertainment, food and fireworks set to contemporary music.
There will be music on two stages and kids activities both days.
Performing on the Village Green Main Stage will be: TriniPan (5 p.m. today); Erika Hughes & the Well Mannered (6:30 p.m. today); Hott Lucy (9 p.m. today); OYAA Jr. Drill Team (noon Saturday); DJ Matty (5 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Saturday); Liberty Deep Down (5 p.m. Saturday); and Jacked Up Band (8 p.m. Saturday).
Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. Saturday.
Performing on the Powell Community Stage will be: Powell Idol Band (5 p.m. today and 12:30 p.m. Saturday); Mouth of the Wolfe Theatre (6 p.m. today); drum instruction (6:30 p.m. today); Cade Larson (7 p.m. today); and PJ North (2 p.m. Saturday).
Kids on the Green activities include: Imaginarium Playground (starting at 5 p.m. today and noon Saturday); Super Games (starting at 5 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Saturday); Ohio Machine (5 p.m. today and noon Saturday); Crew SC (5 p.m. today and noon Saturday); Turtle Lady (5 p.m. today and noon Saturday); Columbus Blue Jackets (5 p.m. today); and Columbus Zoo (5 p.m. today).
Admission is free, but food and beverages cannot be brought in. Also prohibited are alcohol, cans or glass bottles, hard-sided coolers, soft-sided insulated bags, firearms, fireworks and smoking. Bags will be subject to search upon entry. The festival is wheelchair accessible.
This event is sponsored entirely by sponsorships and donations from businesses (both to Powell and central Ohio) and community members.
Heart of Powell Inc., a non-profit organization, has actively funded and managed the Powell Festival for nine years. Formerly known as Historic Downtown Powell, the organization is celebrating its 19th anniversary.
