A Delaware County grand jury issued several indictments Friday, including another indictment against a man who was indicted earlier in June.
Charles W. Howell, of New Albany, was indicted Friday on a charge of aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony; vehicular assault, a fourth-degree felony; and operating vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Howell was indicted June 12 on a charge of vehicular assault, a fourth-degree felony, after prosecutors say Howell swerved into oncoming traffic on U.S. 23 on April 27, hitting a woman’s car and causing serious injuries. Prosecutors said Howell was indicted again because lab results came back, indicating that Howell was driving while intoxicated.
An arraignment on the new charges has not been scheduled yet.
Individuals indicted in Delaware County Common Pleas Court also include:
• Joseph A. Hannah, of Newark, on a charge of theft, a fifth-degree felony; and a charge of possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. An arraignment has not been set.
• Jessica R. Warner, of Newark, on a charge of theft, a fifth-degree felony; and a charge of possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. An arraignment has not been set.
