By a 5-0 vote, the Olentangy Board of Education has approved a number of administrative changes.

Effective Aug. 1, Pamela Bachman will be interim principal at Scioto Ridge Elementary; Jennifer Clifford will be assistant principal at Oak Creek Elementary; Anna Damceski will be assistant principal at Hyatts Middle School; Jack Fette will be the district’s chief academic officer; Derrick Gilliam will be principal at Hyatts; Dana Harmon will be assistant principal at Olentangy Meadows Elementary; Kathy McFarland will be principal at Orange High School; Peggy McMurry will be the curriculum director for the district; Todd Meyer will chief operations officer for the district; Samantha Norman will be the school-community liaison for the district; William Warfield will be principal at Liberty High School; and Randy Wright will be chief of administrative services for the district.

Many of the staff changes were announced by incoming Superintendent Mark Raiff in late June. The board voted on the changes last Thursday.

“With Board of Education support, I have elected to fill the open positions throughout the organization prior to the July 10 deadline that enables administrators to move between districts at will,” Raiff said in a message to the community on the district’s website. “This allows us to most efficiently fill the number of open positions in the leadership team with high-quality, experienced, internal candidates. I believe these steps and transfers will provide for an efficient transition and ensure district leadership stability from the start of the new administration.”

Raiff, who was the chief academic officer, also starts as superintendent on Aug. 1. Current Superintendent Wade Lucas will retire at the end of August.

Also retiring is Assistant Superintendent Linda Martin at the end of July.

“We will not have an assistant superintendent, because our new superintendent has determined that he’s going to have specific directors of areas,” said board vice president Julie Wagner Feasel.

The first day of the 2015-16 school year is Aug. 12.
