Delaware boys’ bravery saves two lives

To the editor:

While my grandson, Cody Wooten, and his friend, Colton Meadows, and two other friends from Delaware were on vacation at Myrtle Beach, they did a very brave thing. A father and son were in the ocean, and got too tired to swim back to shore and started yelling for help.

My grandson and Colton jumped in, ignoring their own safety, saved them and brought them back to shore. As the story goes, there were about 20 people on shore calling for the lifeguard but they did not go to help. The boys already had the father and son on the beach by the time the lifeguard arrived.

The family is so very proud of these boys.
