A city worker is recuperating at home after being shocked on the job last week.

According to city officials, Doug Davenport was injured while making upgrades on a traffic signal at the intersection of West Central Avenue and Warrensburg Road around 11 a.m. on July 14.

Davenport was in the extended bucket of a city bucket truck working near the top of the signal pole when he experienced an electric shock. He lowered himself to the ground and was subsequently driven to Grady Memorial Hospital by a crew member.

Davenport was transferred to Ohio State University Hospital for additional evaluation and treatment.

The city said it continues to investigate the incident.
