Delaware County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Marion man who, they say, robbed the Key Bank in Lewis Center in July.
Officials from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reported that Michael Paul Dice, 59, of 131 W. Center St., Apt. A, Marion, was arrested without incident Tuesday morning in Marion.
Officials say a photo taken of Dice when he handed a teller a note that demanded money at the Key Bank on Owenfield Drive on July 27 was shown on a Central Ohio Crime Stoppers program Monday night. Someone who knew Dice reportedly called authorities and notified them of his whereabouts.
Dice is currently in the Delaware County Jail awaiting arraignment in Delaware Municipal Court where he will face a charge of robbery, a second-degree felony.
Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office is still searching for another man who robbed the same bank on July 15. Deputies say they believe the robberies are not related.
The at-large suspect is described as a white male who is 6-foot-1 or -2, and weighs about 200 pounds, with reddish-brown hair. He was wearing a tan sunhat, glasses and a brown or green zip-up hoodie during the robbery. The robber reportedly also handed the teller a note demanding cash and fled on foot.
Authorities have not disclosed how much money was stolen in either robbery.
Detectives are asking that anyone with information on the July 15 robber to call the sheriff’s office at 740-833-2800.
Officials said the sheriff’s office worked in conjunction with Marion police, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and Crime Stoppers to arrest Dice.
Dice was convicted in Marion County Common Pleas Court on a charge of domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony, in 2002. He was also convicted for obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony, and resisting arrest, a first-degree misdemeanor, in 2003 in Marion County Common Pleas Court.
