Delaware police report:

A man was firing a gun in his backyard on London Road Friday afternoon. Police said the man was target shooting with a .22 caliber rifle and was issued a summons for pointing and discharging a firearm.

A man was pepper-sprayed by a woman Sunday morning near City Hall about 2 a.m. Police said a man and a woman had been at a downtown business when they were approached by another man who said he was owed money. The man and woman left the business and were then threatened by the second man. A fight broke out between the two men and the woman pepper-sprayed the second man in the face. A citation for disorderly conduct was issued to the man.

A teenager was cited for prohibition and providing a fictitious ID Sunday morning about 2:30 a.m. at UDF on West William Street.

A man was lying in the roadway on West William Street Sunday just before 3 a.m. Police arrived and helped him out of the road. He told police he was unsure where he was and indicated he had consumed a large quantity of alcohol. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital by Delaware firefighters for a medical examination. He was also issued a court summons for disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

A caller from North Carolina contacted the Strand Theatre Sunday afternoon after seeing a threat of violence at the theater posted in an online chat room. The Strand immediately contacted police who, in turn, contacted the social media provider but police were unable to reproduce the alleged threat. Police said it is unclear if it was intended for the Strand in Delaware but a report was taken to document the incident.
