Crash snarls traffic

A crash Tuesday morning on West William Street stalled traffic for about 45 minutes. Police said the driver of a red car, Stephen Mintos, 88, of Delaware, rear-ended a van and then hit a telephone pole at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mintos had injuries to his hands and arms, while his passenger, Sylvia Lindholm, 80, reported chest pain. Mintos was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and Lindholm was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital. Mintos was cited for assured clear distance ahead and ordered to appear in municipal court. No one else was injured in the accident.
