A Delaware man was arrested Saturday night after authorities say he robbed a store on South Sandusky Street.
According to police, Frederick Price, 43, of 225 S. Sandusky St., Apt. 23, went into the Family Dollar Store located at 165 S. Sandusky at 6:10 p.m. Saturday and went to the checkout lane. Police say Price implied he had a gun and demanded money from the cash register.
Police said Price fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police arrived and with the assistance of store personnel were able to quickly obtain a photo of Price via the CCTV system. Police said officers canvased the area and nearby witnesses recognized the suspect.
Price was taken into custody a short time later and police said they recovered the money stolen from the store.
Police say Price was also involved in a robbery at Walgreen’s at 19 London Road, just off South Sandusky, at 5:48 p.m. Saturday. Police said he went to the cashier at Walgreen’s, implied he had a gun, demanded cash but the cashier ran from the register. Price then fled Walgreen’s empty-handed.
Price appeared in Delaware Municipal Court Monday morning where his bond was set at $25,00o. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 8.
Price was in the Delaware County Jail Monday afternoon.
