Preservation Parks of Delaware County has four programs planned for the first half of September.
Registration is not required for these free programs:
• “Story time on the Farm,” Friday, Sept. 4, 1 p.m. Bring your youngsters to Gallant Farm for an afternoon of fun. Listen to a story book from the 1930s or ’40s, and complete an easy craft or coloring page. Ages 3 and older. Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road.
• “Terrific Tomatoes,” Sunday, Sept. 6, 2 p.m. Learn about tomatoes, as participants harvest, cook and can. Ages 18 and older. Gallant Farm.
• “Hound Hike,” Wednesday, Sept. 9, 6:30 p.m. Bring your socialized canine for a walk with a naturalist. Guest presenter: Delaware Dog Jogger. All ages; Char-Mar Ridge Preserve, 7741 Lewis Center Road.
• “Monarch Magic Weekend,” Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13, noon to 5 p.m. Celebrate the world of the monarch butterfly. Play games, watch a movie, make crafts and enjoy refreshments as participants learn about monarchs. Participants will tag and release live monarchs, if they are available, at 2 p.m. each day. An optional fundraiser will be available to help save monarchs. All ages. Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 Liberty Road.
